In the last week, I've had the opportunity to participate in table read workshops of two incredible projects. One is a dramatic, political pilot that is just the beginning of a complex and exciting world the writers have created. The other is a showbiz comedy about to go into production and it's quippy, smart, and honest. Can't really say much more, but it's such a thrill to be part of this phase of a project, and to meet new collaborators and watch exciting work grow.
I am working on the role of May, a supporting role in a short film called "Whistling." As May, I give advice, tough love, humor, and distraction to my best friend, Ping, who is going through a break up. I also help her pack up her apartment, and I don't think it's a spoiler alert to say she has way too many boxes. Can't wait to see the finished product and share it!
I had the opportunity this week to perform in a workshop reading of a new play, "Jung and Crazy," by Yaakove Bressler and Robert Kellerman. I played Samantha, an anxious therapy patient in a complicated romance, who finds her voice and independence, even as her therapist descends into insanity. Also the ghost of Carl Jung is there. We had great turnout for all the performances, and I can't wait to see where this project goes!
